Yorland Records to Distribute Bola Ojotu’s Music Worldwide
Bola Ojotu, the revered Owo cultural music legend from Ondo State, has taken a historic step to preserve and globalise her musical legacy. In partnership with Yorland Records & Entertainment, her body of work has now been professionally curated and distributed across all major music streaming platforms, making her music accessible to audiences around the world for the first time.
For decades, Bola Ojotu’s music has existed primarily within communal memory, live performances, and local circulation. Her songs have soundtracked ceremonies, storytelling, cultural pride, and spiritual reflection in Owo and beyond. With this new distribution deal, her work is no longer limited by geography or format. Fans, old and new, can now stream her music globally, while collectors and cultural institutions can access her catalogue in physical formats, including vinyl and CD, distributed by Yorland Records & Entertainment.
This move is more than a commercial release; it is an act of cultural preservation. By digitising and properly archiving Bola Ojotu’s music, Yorland Records is ensuring that an important chapter of Ondo State’s musical and cultural history is protected from erasure and made available to future generations.
Born into royalty in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Bola Ojotu is the daughter of Prince John Ijabiken and Princess Juliana Ajibike Ijabiken. Her upbringing in a royal household deeply shaped her understanding of tradition, discipline, and cultural responsibility, values that have consistently reflected in her music.
She had both her elementary and secondary education in Owo, where her leadership qualities were evident early on. She served as Senior Girl at her primary school and later as Social Prefect Girl at her grammar school. Her academic journey in music culminated in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Benin, further grounding her artistic talent in formal musical knowledge.
Today, Bola Ojotu is happily married with children, balancing family life with her enduring role as a cultural custodian and musical icon. Her collaboration with Yorland Records marks a new chapter, one that bridges tradition and modern distribution, ensuring that Owo’s cultural sound travels far beyond its place of origin.
With her music now available worldwide on streaming platforms, vinyl, and CD, Bola Ojotu’s voice continues its journey not just as entertainment, but as heritage, memory, and identity carried across generations and borders.
